The Hulk..is it Over???

Stan Lee has created many a super hero in his time. One of his more famous super heroes is the Hulk, who first appeared in the comic book The Incredible Hulk #1 in 1962. Since then the Hulk, who is also known as Bruce Banner or The Professor, has appeared in many comic books, movies and TV shows. There are Hulk masks, toys, action figures and many more items you can buy and collect.

Bruce’s story begins with his father and his father’s work with atomic energy. His work caused a mutation in Bruce’s genes that gave him a heightened intellect. He became abusive to both his wife and his son. When Bruce’s mother tried to stop the abuse, she became its new target. This eventually led to her death at the hands of her own husband. Because of this, Bruce developed a split personality to help cope with the fear and pain. This wasn’t the end of the abuse for Bruce, however, as he was also bullied in school. Bruce created a dud bomb which he planted in the school basement; he was expelled and discovered by the military. His work with the military is what ultimately led Bruce Banner to become the Incredible Hulk. He had begun work on gamma radiation. While testing a gamma bomb in New Mexico a young man, named Rick Jones, wandered into the testing field; Bruce then selflessly rescued him. It was then that Bruce Banner was affected by gamma radiation and, in turn, became the Hulk.

The Avengers movie that came out in 2012 saw the return of Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk. Secretly, S.H.E.I.L.D had never stopped monitoring the Hulk. They asked Bruce Banner to help track down an Infinity Stone called the Tesseract, which was stolen by the Asgardian, Loki. He wasn’t the only super hero tasked with tracking down Loki and the Tesseract. Iron Man and Captain America were also brought on board. The movie ended with the Avengers defeating Loki. However, the newest Avengers movie showcases Iron Man’s Hulkbuster suit, which has led to much speculation and some debate as to which route the Marvel movies are heading.

There are at least a couple of reasons for the introduction to the suit’s use in the movie. Perhaps the most interesting is that Hulk has indeed, even though manipulated, turned on the Avengers and the Hulk suit is being used to counteract any inevitable “Hulking-Out” threat for the future. This may mean that the Marvel series could be gearing up for a Planet Hulk Movie sometime after the next mainstream movies come out such as “Captain America: Civil War”, and “Antman”.

I have previously said that the Marvel movies are gearing up for some big boss fights with Thanos and Apocalypse. In my opinion, if a Planet Hulk movie does come out it won’t be until Phase 4 of the Marvel movies. I think the Hulkbuster suit in the Age of Ultron trailer is indeed a hint at a potential major stint for the Hulk Franchise. I think the Marvel company will keep the Avengers team together and have an increase in its ranks because the Avengers franchise is just so successful. They ultimately still have more to gain by keeping the Avengers together. Perhaps Thor Ragnorok will tie into a Planet Hulk or World War Hulk movie, but it won’t be until 2019 or 2020, sorry folks.
